Infographic: Stepping inside Sagmeister’s mind
This project’s focus was to create a visual representation of information about a graphic designer by implementing their style into the piece.
The graphic designer I was assigned to was Stefan Sagmeister who is known as the “happy designer.” I did research on him by reading his interviews, listening to his Ted Talks and reading articles about him and his background.
My intent was to capture his message which is that his work is relevant and needed in a time where it seems we’re clouded by bad news. Moreover, I showcase ideas that are important and personal to him. He’s random and calculated and that’s how I wanted it to look in a realistic way.
A highlight here is that Sagmeister’s work revolves around typography and making words out of objects or even etching words onto himself. For this piece I photoshopped his name that he etched onto his stomach into a previous piece and photoshopped it onto this man’s arm.
